At Asda, we want you to find your everything. As a Duty Manager, you’ll play a vital role in the day-to-day running of our supermarket stores by planning and executing all trading activity across multiple departments whilst ensuring the store is safe and legal for our customers and colleagues.

You’ll lead the shrink agenda through the team, driving standards and inputs as well as acting on opportunities and business priorities with clear actions alongside the Store Manager to deliver a brilliant shopping experience and ensure our store is a great place to work.

What qualities you’ll need:

  • Drive strategy into action: Planning and executing all trading activity on the shopfloor, delivering great availability standards, key metrics and KRAs through routine and processes.
  • Lead with impact: Engaging and coaching food hall leadership team in waste and markdown compliance as well as the rest of the team to deliver excellent shopfloor standards whilst creating a culture of serving our customers with personality, heart and pride, and get one more item in every basket.
  • Results-focused: Lead team with energy and pace to ensure shopfloor and promotional activity is landed to brief and on time to drive the store selling agenda whilst focusing on opportunities and business priorities.
  • Talent Development: Listen with empathy, driving resilience and encourage ownership, focus and passion for the business by bringing the “Asdaness” to work every day and supporting the development of the team and creating an environment where people feel valued, trusted, and motivated to step up.

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience as Team Leader, Supervisor or Manager in a grocery retail environment.
  • Operational knowledge across food and non-food departments.
  • Knowledge of improving availability, reducing waste, and managing shrink.
  • Experience developing teams and managing change through leadership and building resilience.
  • Good understanding of HR policies and processes, and exposure to complex ER cases.
  • Strong organisational skills and great customer service.
  • Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends and evenings.
