Asda is looking for a Trade Planning Assistant to work alongside our Trade Planning teams on a full-time and permanent contract basis.

You will be joining us at an exciting time as we begin our journey to ASDA price and the simplification of our range and proposition. This is a key development role for anyone looking to broaden their skill set and would suit someone with a buying or marketing background. This role reports into the Trade Planning Manager, which forms part of the commercial team and will cover all channels & formats.

The key areas of responsibility will be to support:

  • Key stakeholder between buying, supply, merchandising & central retail operation teams to manage end-to-end critical path to deliver 'right first time' promotional plan for the business unit.
  • Work closely with the Trade Planning Managers to select and prioritise key promotional activity to share with the central customer teams - gaining marketing support for business unit activity.
  • Liaise with in-store marketing (POS) to ensure execution of promotional and seasonal POS.
  • Support on event and range planning including autopsy process through engaging multiple internal stakeholders and supplier category teams.

About You:

  • Experience in buying, category management, customer planning or trade planning.
  • Have commercial understanding of the FMCG industry.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of wider, matrix team structure.
  • Experience of working with customer data to turn into action orientated plans.
  • Be comfortable handling admin and achieving deadlines.
  • The ability to influence at different levels across the business.
