Your role will be pivotal in driving process improvement and simplification across the retail pricing and promotions execution within Asda by identifying commercial opportunities and end to end process improvements that drive various key business metrics such as sales, profit, and cost savings.

Working as part of a central team responsible for the end to end process of retail pricing and promotions execution, you will collaborate with multiple key business functions in Asda while managing a close working relationship with our Asda technology team to support system enhancement improvements that deliver commercial benefits to the business. You will focus on delivering process improvement and efficiency to the Commercial function in all aspects of the end to end retail pricing and promotions process, streamlining execution with a user-first approach to enrich and optimise pricing execution upstream, resulting in seamless and streamlined execution instore.

The role will involve working across various applications within Asda that are integral to the process, such as Anaplan and SAP, and you will become a subject matter expert in all aspects of the design of these solutions and how to obtain the most benefit from them within Asda’s design. The commercial business function will be your key customer, and you will focus your time on driving efficiencies that support these stakeholders along with continued identification of new available technologies and opportunities within the end to end process for optimisation.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of current operational processes around retail pricing and promotions execution, along with a proven track record of delivering process efficiencies on a large and complex scale within a large organisation. You must be comfortable using and understanding technical systems and how these systems hold together the full end to end process of pricing execution.

The candidate needs to be engaging and at ease when working collaboratively and cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders at once, and be a strong, clear, and decisive communicator and decision maker. Problem solving and solutioning will be key skills, enabling you to make clear decisions with the interest of the overall business at heart.

To ensure we balance moments where we know we need to collaborate together and the need for flexibility, Asda has a hybrid way of working with a minimum of 3 days a week in one of our Home Offices. Over and above this, each area of Asda may have additional requirements which may require spending more days in the office, visiting suppliers, stores, or depots.
