The Express Buying Manager is responsible for developing the Express strategy, with full ownership of price, promotions, and P&L performance. Acting as the voice of the Express customer, this role challenges Commercial teams to deliver the right ranges and Innovation. You will lead communication and alignment across the Commercial teams, driving strategies that balance customer needs with commercial objectives to deliver growth and profitability.

You will:

  • Be insight-driven and passionate about understanding the convenience market.
  • Gather data through competitor visits, trade shows, and collaboration with Category Managers.
  • Use technology to make informed pricing recommendations.
  • Stay close to stores and own category data for Asda Express, turning insight into action.
  • Build and communicate clear strategies while upskilling trading teams through convenience immersion sessions, ensuring decisions are customer-focused and commercially sound.

To ensure we balance moments where we know we need to collaborate together and the need for flexibility, Asda has a hybrid way of working with a minimum of 3 days a week in one of our Home Offices. Over and above this, each area of Asda may have additional requirements which may require spending more days in the office, visiting suppliers, stores or depots.
