In the Finance team at Asda, the focus of a Commercial Finance Manager is to drive the performance of the business area that you partner, using available tools and data to develop actionable insight, and using that insight to drive change. This particular role will partner with our Food Trading stakeholders. You play a key role in ensuring we deliver the operational plans and the P&L targets, ensuring monthly performance is understood and acted upon, and influencing stakeholders to address risks and opportunities and make a real difference to business performance.
Your Role
- Partner with the Food leadership team to surface value-add ideas, understand risks & opportunities, and rigorously challenge mitigation and action planning.
- Manage the long-range, in-year, and short-term planning process for revenue and costs, incorporating the latest information into a robust outlook and ensuring alignment with our corporate financial and strategic plans.
- Value-add analysis: In collaboration with the finance analysts and the data and analytics team, you'll turn insights into actions to identify value-add opportunities.
- Investment Appraisal: Lead the assessment of projects that redefine our store operations, driving cost efficiency and elevating our customer proposition.
- Own the month-end performance narrative, ensuring performance is understood and necessary future actions are in place.
- Working with senior finance and non-finance stakeholders, you'll help make complex financial concepts easily understood and actionable.
- Play an active role within the wider finance community.
