Role Overview
Reporting into the Area Manager, the Pharmacy Practice Manager role blends patient care and commercial focus, requiring strong leadership to drive a profitable business. This role is accountable for delivering all Pharmacy-related targets and deadlines, managing the store pharmacist and pharmacy colleagues, and supporting the drive to make Asda Pharmacy best in class.
Daily duties include leading, coaching, and developing the pharmacy team to deliver excellent patient experience and exceptional patient safety. You will be directly responsible for supporting and developing all direct reports and locums, maintaining high standards of professional customer service and compliance with GPhC operating standards and clinical governance. You will have access to in-store, regional, and home office teams for clinical or service queries, with expert advice and support available at all times.
Term & Working Hours
Fixed Term: Until September 2026.
Schedule – Rota:
- Week 1 – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 09:00–21:00
- Week 2 – Saturday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 09:00–21:00
Qualifications & Experience
You will be:
- Fully qualified pharmacist registered with the GPhC, accredited to deliver national and local NHS and private healthcare services.
- Capable of balancing line management and pharmacy duties to deliver a safe working environment.
- Skilled in inspiring and motivating your team to achieve defined KRAs.
- Experienced in confidently challenging, confronting, and solving difficult situations, while maintaining solid connections in-store and with field teams.
Additional Requirements
- Valid GPhC registration.
- Evidence of right to work in the UK.
- Relevant safeguarding qualifications.
- Completion of a DBS check and enrollment in the live-update service.
- Documentation demonstrating qualifications and identity must be provided.
