The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
This position is a significant leadership role with full accountability to business partner Property, Construction and Planning providing legal strategic advice as well as the oversight and delivery of property contracts, which include a high volume of complex and bespoke arrangements relating to sale and leasebacks, mixed use developments and convenience leases.
Key Responsibilities
- Accountability for the end-to-end legal advice for Property, Construction and Planning (including litigation)
- Advising on how to best structure arrangements with third parties
- Oversight of negotiation and drafting of the legal documentation to support those arrangements
- Management of a complex mixed estate as well as tenanted portfolio including charged and leaseback properties
- Advising on and awareness of regulatory and competition elements of a large grocery retail estate
- Continuous improvement and best in class contract advice, across Property, Planning and Construction and key operational services
- Maintaining MI and one version of the truth for Property, Planning and Construction and Property contracts repository
- Managing an internal and external legal team
- Driving transparency whilst focusing on key issues to enable the business to deliver at pace
- Supporting corporate governance for all Property, Planning and Construction contracts
- Attending Asda Real Estate and Investment Committee meetings and VP and SD led steering groups on specific projects
- Developing and implementing strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent.
- Partnering with Vice Presidents, Senior Directors and suppliers from Property, Planning and Construction
