Job location: Peterborough. Employment type: full-time, permanent. Shift pattern: days, 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Complete eye examinations, contact lens and extended service examinations.
  • Work alongside the Dispensing Optician Manager to support colleagues with training, coaching and maintaining departmental standards.
  • Deliver NHS extended service contracts, assisting with treatments and monitoring of eye conditions, and help develop new patient services and shape the department culture.

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified optometrist registered with the GOC.
  • Registered NHS performer within the relevant area (MECs or WECs) or willing to obtain accreditation within 12 months of joining (funded and supported by Asda).
  • On track to meet statutory CPD points requirement.
  • Evidence of Right to Work in the UK.
  • Will provide two clinical references and evidence of NHS performer list for the nation. Welsh applicants must provide WECS accreditation and WGOS module accreditation.

Schedule

  • Week 1: Tuesday–09:00 to 17:30, Wednesday–09:00 to 17:30, Thursday–09:00 to 17:30, Friday–09:00 to 17:30, Saturday–09:00 to 17:30.
  • Week 2: Monday–09:00 to 17:30, Tuesday–09:00 to 17:30, Wednesday–09:00 to 17:30, Thursday–09:00 to 17:30, Friday–09:00 to 17:30.
