Asda Primary Logistics is a commercial and service function that is part of Asda Logistics Services. We plan, execute and manage over 3000 loads of supplier stock into our Asda Depots per week. We carry 70% of fresh and 40% of ambient food stock into our sites for onward delivery to our stores. Our aim is to be the default option for all Asda suppliers by offering first class service and lowest cost whilst generating revenue for ALS. The operations team are based in Rochdale and have a dedicated office with first class facilities. We believe in an open culture where respect and engagement are embedded into our ways of working.

Purpose

The role is to plan and execute the primary plan to deliver first class service to our depots and stores.

Responsibilities

  • Execute planning activities for the primary network within a team of planners who cover 7 days per week of activity.
  • Achieve specific goals in your area of responsibility by working with internal and external customers.
  • Analyze and use data to improve service to our customers.

Skills

  • Work at intermediate level to analyze potential solutions and create recommendations based on the expected benefits, costs, and overall value to key stakeholders.
  • Interpret, contribute to or lead business case creation with all departments.
  • Produce updates and best practice on complex MS documents, databases on departmental systems.
  • Resolve complex queries from internal and external customers and suppliers by providing information on policies and procedures.
  • Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of relevant, external technology regulation and industry best practices.

Experience

General Experience: Experienced practitioner and able to work unsupervised. Used to working in fast paced environment.

To ensure we balance moments where we know we need to collaborate together and the need for flexibility, Asda has a hybrid way of working with a minimum of 3 days a week in one of our Home Offices. Over and above this, each area of Asda may have additional requirements which may require spending more days in the office, visiting suppliers, stores or depots.
