The predicted salary is between 55000 - 65000 £ per year.

Working within the Microsoft 365 engineering function, spearheading the mission to optimize the investment in M365, driving efficiency, performance, resilience and championing business utilization and adoption. Directs, oversees and assures seamless execution by strategic partners, working holistically to define and implement the vision and strategy, and driving the establishment of efficient, high quality, secure and resilient solutions across Asda. Interacts regularly with Solution Architects, Project Managers, and wider business areas to deliver enterprise level implementations and changes. The role sits within Infrastructure Engineering, working closely with peers in EUC, Compute, Network, and Distributed Client teams, in addition to the InfoSec and Cloud Platform Services teams. You will also be required to be a point of escalation for Operations issues, both within and out of hours (when on call), supported by an established engineering rota.

Note: This position requires attendance at Asda House in Leeds for a minimum of three days per week. We welcome applications from candidates seeking part‑time hours, flexible working arrangements, or job‑share opportunities.

Responsibilities and Functional Duties

  • Business Requirements Identification: Collect business requirements using a variety of methods, such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, and workflow analysis, to express the requirements in terms of target user roles and goals.
  • Tech Vendor Management: Work with suppliers of products in your area, ensuring all products have road maps.
  • Secure and Stable: Ensure we implement, and regularly review the infrastructure to ensure we are following best security practices.
  • Capacity Management: Regular capacity reviews, and working with the business to keep capacity growth under control.
  • Lead Technical Colleague: Act as lead technical colleague guiding and supporting junior members of the team, and ensuring best practice is followed.
  • Policies and Procedures Development: Contribute to the drafting of policies, procedures, and related guidelines within your area of expertise to meet defined key principles and ensure compliance with external requirements.

Strong technical knowledge & expertise across the M365 application suite including but not limited to Teams, MS Office, SharePoint, with experience in both a strategic and tactical capacity. Expertise in designing, implementing, and supporting modern workplace solutions within a complex, highly structured corporate environment is essential. Knowledge and experience of Service Management methodology, process and tooling (including ServiceNow) across the Service Value Chain in line with ITIL/industry best practice. Work independently while collaborating closely with peers, and provide technical guidance when required on planning, organizing, prioritizing and overseeing activities to efficiently meet business objectives. Able to manage own workload to ensure tasks are delivered on time.

Work Arrangement

To ensure we balance moments where we know we need to collaborate together and the need for flexibility, Asda has a hybrid way of working with a minimum 3 days a week in one of our Home Offices. Over and above this, each area of Asda may have additional requirements which may require spending more days in the office, visiting suppliers, stores or depots.
