Responsibilities

  • Deliver excellent execution across the store and embed consistent routines that drive availability, waste and shrink management.
  • Review store processes to achieve strong metrics and KRAs for availability, waste and shrink across Ambient, Fresh, George and General Merchandising departments.
  • Adhere to contract base management and wage control while leading and coaching managers and teams to maintain high store standards.
  • Build a culture of empathy, accountability and continuous improvement—recognise effort and growth, and foster open, respectful conversations on the shop floor.
  • Lead the shrink agenda through the team, setting clear actions and driving standards to protect store performance.
  • Ensure the POS one best way is followed, delivering a strong value message for customers.
  • Prioritise and delegate effectively to guarantee promotional activity is landed to brief and on time.
  • Collaborate across teams to provide seamless customer experience and smooth operations.
  • Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and drive operational improvements.
  • Maintain legal compliance and ensure the store remains compliant for customers and colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing diverse teams in a large‑format retail environment with energy and pace.
  • Strong operational knowledge across food and non‑food departments.
  • Track record of improving availability, reducing waste and managing shrink.
  • Confidence in developing large teams, managing change and building resilience.
  • Experience managing ER cases and understanding HR policies and processes.
  • Strong organisational skills and a commitment to exceeding customer service standards.
