Reporting into the Area Manager, the Pharmacy Practice Manager role is a hybrid of patient care and commercial focus. The role requires a strong leader who is passionate about healthcare, patients and driven to achieve business profitability. The Practice Manager is accountable for delivering all pharmacy‑related targets, deadlines, and the management of the store pharmacist and pharmacy colleagues. It supports the drive to make Asda Pharmacy the best in class.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop the pharmacy team to deliver an excellent patient experience and achieve exceptional levels of patient safety.
  • Take direct responsibility for supporting and developing all direct reports and locums to maintain high standards of professional customer service and compliance with GPhC operating standards and clinical governance.
  • Maintain continuity of service and support across rotating shift rota, including Week1 and Week2 schedules.
  • Coordinate with in‑store, regional and home‑office teams, offering expert advice and support for clinical or service based queries.
  • Deliver results by inspiring and motivating the team to achieve defined KRAs.
  • Manage relationships with both in‑store and field teams, challenging and solving difficult situations.

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified pharmacist registered with the GPhC, accredited to deliver NHS and private healthcare services.
  • Experience balancing line‑manager and pharmacist roles in a safe working environment.
  • Proven ability to deliver results through team motivation and action.
  • Experience in challenging, confronting and solving difficult situations while maintaining solid connections.
  • Valid GPhC registration, right to work in the UK, safeguarding qualifications, DBS check and live update service enrollment.
