About the Role
To be employed in this role you must be over the age of 18 and pass an enhanced safeguarding check. Our stores operate 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, with a wide variety of shift patterns. We offer flexible working to fit around your lifestyle, but late and weekend work is a requirement of the role and we may need to be flexible with your work pattern.
Responsibilities
- Preparing patients for their eye examination
- Explaining each stage of the eye test
- Completing pre‑screening examinations
- Booking appointments
- Dispensing spectacles and contact lenses
- Dealing with repairs and adjustments
- Ensuring stock has been received by the supplier
We will provide training to become a star colleague, including dispensing glasses, handling repairs, adjustments, glasses verification, teaching contact lens insertion and removals, and options for the Asda Optical Step In programme or Level 3 Optical Assistant Apprenticeship. Progress opportunities include becoming a GOC registered dispensing optician via the Level 6 Apprenticeship.
