Role Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Shift Supervisor to join our Operations team in Dudley.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced warehouse professionalwithlaserprocessing knowledge, to take ownership of shift performance and drivehigh standardsacross safety, productivityand service delivery.

As a Shift Supervisor, you willbe responsible forleading and managinglaserprocessing andwarehouse operations during your shift, ensuring all activities are carried out safely, efficiently and in line with company policies and procedures.

You will play a key role in delivering operational excellence acrosssafety, quality, service, costandproductivity while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

This shift covers the afternoon shift, working from 2.00pm to 10.00pm, Monday to Friday.

Due to the nature of our products, the warehouse environment can be physically demanding, dirty, and subject to temperature variations (hot in summer and cold in winter).

Applicants should be comfortable working in these conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects oflaser processing andwarehousefunctionsacross theshift to achieve operational targets
  • Maintain the highest standards of healthandsafety, disciplineand productivity
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies, proceduresand quality standards
  • Monitor and drive performance improvements across the shift
  • Supervise and coordinate a team of up to10employees
  • Ensure customer requirements are consistently met throughaccurateandtimelyoperations
  • Liaise with internal departments, includingsales and other operational teams, to deliver excellent service
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean and 5S practices
  • Ensure effective shift handovers and preparation forsubsequentteams
  • Monitor training needs and ensure compliance with certification and expiry requirements
  • Control costs and minimise waste across shift operations
  • What we are looking for
  • Experience in a warehouse or distribution environment
  • Proven experience leading or supervising a team, often with limited directmanagement
  • Strong understanding of healthandsafety (EHS) and safe working practices
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement
  • Good working knowledge of warehouse operations and processes
  • Ability to safely handle large and heavy steel products
  • Strong communicationskills (both written and verbal)
  • Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and email
  • A stable career history
  • Experience in laser processing preferred but not essential
  • SAP literacy an advantage but not essential
  • IOSH certification or equivalent health & safety qualification
