Role Overview
We areseekinga motivated and reliable Warehouse Operative to join our teamin Birkenhead(CH14 1EY).
This role is critical in ensuring customer orders are fulfilled accurately, safelyand efficiently within a fast-paced industrial environment.
Working hours are 45 hours per week, working Monday to Fridayfrom8.00am until 5.00pm daily.
Our warehouse operations involve picking and packing materials, loadingvehiclesandoperatinga range of equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, sawsand coating machines.
Due to the nature of our products, the warehouse environment can be physically demanding, dirty, and subject to temperature variations (hot in summer and cold in winter).
Applicants should be comfortable working in these conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick and process computer-generated customer orders, including repetitive handling and lifting of large and heavy materials(steel).
- Accurately record stock movements and product usage using internal systems.
- Identifyproducts correctly and use measuring equipment whererequired.
- Operate processing machinery such as saws (training provided where necessary).
- Safelyoperateforklifts and overhead cranes to transfer stock.
- Assistwith the production, preparationand dispatch of customer orders.
- Maintainhigh standardsof health and safety at all times.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrate flexibility to support operational requirements as needed.
- Stable and consistent employment history.
- Previousexperience in a warehouse or industrial environment.
- Ability to safely handle large and heavy steel products.
- Basic IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) and willingness to learn internal systems.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to health and safety.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience working in heavy industry, ideally within the steel sector.
- Valid forklift truck licence.
