Role Overview
At Birkenhead, we bring together extensive hot-rolled coil stock and advanced de-coiling capabilities under one roof.
Theprimary purpose of this role will beto work as a team tooperateone ofourtwode-coiling machines, pick, processandload customer ordersandoffload incoming stock.
Key Responsibilities
- Work to customer specifications to ensure material isprocessedin accordance withthese.
- Pick and process computer-generated customer orders, including repetitive handling and lifting of large and heavy materials.
- Accurately record stock movements and product usage using SAP.
- Safelyoperateforklifts and overhead cranes to transfer stock (where qualified).
- Assistwith the production, preparation, and dispatch of customer orders.
- Maintainhigh standardsof health and safety at all times.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrate flexibility to support operational requirements as needed.
- Stable and consistent employment history.
- Experience ofworking inaheavy industryenvironment(preferably in steel).
- Ability to safely handle large and heavy steel products.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to health and safety.
- Experience of operating overhead cranesand counterbalance forklift trucks.
