Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders.

PURPOSE OF ROLE

  • Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Complete thermal and EMC tests and document the results.
  • Assist with the design and development of products by building and testing prototypes.
  • Testing, fault finding and value engineering of lighting products and components.
  • Provide support and assistance to the Quality, Product Design, Production Assembly, Sales and Engineering teams.

ROLE TASKS

  • Complete thermal and EMC test data diligently and document the results in report format.
  • Assist and support the Customer Service with technical enquiries.
  • Build prototype luminaires to aid Engineering and Product Design Teams.
  • Work with the Quality Department to investigate and report on Customer returns.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy working area, and adhere to company health and safety policies.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • You will be self-driven, conscientious with good communication skills.
  • Mature and credible with an ability to work on your own initiative or as a part of a team.
  • You will have a clear focus on high quality and an attention to detail, with the ability to work flexibly.
  • High level of professionalism.
  • Have an understanding and knowledge of electronics and electrical systems to A-Level or BTEC (preferred).
  • Competent at Through hole and SMT soldering down to 0805 component size (preferred).
  • Experienced in fault-finding and testing of electrical and electronic components (essential).
  • PCB Design (EasyPC) / Solidworks / Composer (advantageous).
  • Ability to work at pace with energy.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Conscientious and proud of the quality of work produced.
  • Ability to prioritise own workload and seek support where necessary.
  • Computer literate with the ability to use MS Office and the EFACS system (training given if required).
  • Flexible approach to work and be prepared to work overtime and off-site if required.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Team player with the ability to work with and support other team members.
