To implement new integrated operating procedures across internal sales, specification management, and lighting design teams, creating a new commercial hub. This role is essential to developing and ensuring seamless project flow from initial enquiry through to order.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day office operations within a fast-paced lighting environment
  • Lead and support internal sales, lighting design, and lighting specification/design teams
  • Optimise and deploy internal processes for quotations, project tracking, and order handling
  • Ensure effective communication between departments between the hub and the rest of the organisation
  • Produce regular performance and pipeline reports for senior management
  • Oversee preparation of quotations for lighting schemes, including schedules and pricing
  • Ensure fast, accurate responses to customer enquiries via phone and email (contractors, wholesalers, consultants). Strong verbal and written communication essential.
  • Drive conversion of quotations into secured orders through proactive follow-ups
  • Maintain CRM/project tracking systems with up-to-date opportunity data
  • Support external sales managers in securing project opportunities
  • Monitor project pipelines and identify high-value opportunities
  • Manage and prioritise lighting design requests across the team
  • Support design optimisation and value engineering where required
  • Act as a key point of contact for technical queries and project support
  • Ensure high levels of customer service across all touchpoints
  • Assist in resolving project challenges, including product selection and alternatives
  • Support client presentations, design reviews, and specification meetings
  • Monitor KPIs such as: Quote conversion rate, Project win rate, Design turnaround time, Order value and margin
  • Support pricing strategies aligned with project and market conditions
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability and project success rates
  • Assist with forecasting and pipeline planning

Skills & Experience

  • Experience within the lighting industry or electrical/technical specification environment
  • Strong understanding of: Lighting products (luminaires, controls, emergency lighting), Specification sales process, Project-based sales cycles
  • Experience managing internal sales or design teams
  • Familiarity with lighting design software (Dialux / Relux preferred)
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to drive team cohesion and achieve buy-in from team members
