What we are looking for:

We are currently seeking a Painting and Decorating Operative to join our Painting and Decorating team, based at the racecourse in Ascot, Berkshire. This is a full-time, permanent role.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Working as part of a team of seven, responsible for the delivery of all Painting and Decorating elements across Ascot Racecourse.
  • Supporting the long-term maintenance, day-to-day operation, as well as event set up.
  • Providing knowledge of operation and building infrastructure.
  • Supporting the P&D Team leader with Health and Safety within the Painting and Decorating Team and contractors under your direct control, ensuring that RAMS are received, filed, and followed.
  • Raising orders for P&D budget lines and communicating any overspends to the Facilities Manager.
  • Issuing, monitoring, assisting where needed, and closing all reactive jobs on a regular basis.
  • Ensuring and maintaining the estate in accordance with operating procedures.
  • Undertaking regular inspections of the estate, ensuring any faults are repaired within deadlines.
  • Providing CAPEX project support.
  • Supporting Racedays as applicable while ensuring shift patterns reflect required cover.
  • Performing such other duties as the Company may reasonably require.

Skills and experience you can bring:

  • Significant experience as a Painter and Decorator for a large organisation.
  • Possessing relevant qualifications and competencies relating to a Painting and Decorating background.
  • Knowledge of relevant Health & Safety, Electricity at Work regulations, and COSHH requirements is an advantage.
  • Computer literate with a good standard of ICT knowledge including Microsoft Office.
