The Distribution Strategy Manager role supports the Director of Distribution Strategy and is responsible for implementing an effective distribution strategy for Ascot Underwriting Limited, working closely with underwriting teams and key brokers to position Ascot as a go‑to partner for strategic opportunities.
Job Summary
This position will support the Director of Distribution Strategy and assume responsibility for assisting in the implementation of an appropriate distribution strategy for Ascot Underwriting Limited. The Distribution Strategy Manager will work closely with underwriting teams to develop and maintain relationships with key brokers, ensuring Ascot remains a go‑to partner for strategic opportunities.
Detailed Duties
- Distribution
- Active engagement with brokers to increase awareness of Ascot’s diverse platform of risk solutions.
- Support Syndicate Underwriters to drive distribution strategy in alignment with the organisation’s growth and profitability objectives.
- Review and support broker strategy for the various product lines within the Syndicate to address distribution channel needs.
- Promote new product launches with key distribution strategies and client management.
- Long‑term planning with research, development, and execution of new opportunities across geographies, classes, markets, and channels, including digital.
- Partner with the Management Information team to manage weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reporting capturing trade relationships, performance tracking, and other metrics.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key brokers within the market and across major trading partners.
- Establish and monitor key broker initiatives and ensure execution upon agreed key performance indicators.
- Analyse and report summary findings from MI data and advise on strategies for improvement.
- Manage a schedule of regular broker interaction, events, and engagement for key partners.
- Assist with appetite and proposition developments, working closely with Marketing and Underwriting to aid broker trading.
Experience Required
- Proven experience in the Insurance industry, preferably from an Underwriting or Broking background.
- A minimum of seven years developing business relationships in a commercial environment.
- Strong analytical background to understand business dynamics and anticipate trends.
- Track record of building, managing and influencing broker relationships.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative skills, including experience in commercial insurance metrics.
- Ability to work with MI data to create insightful deliverables.
- Capacity to contribute towards business planning and strategy development.
