Reporting to the Head of Commercial Operations, the Group Pricing Manager is responsible for commercial financial management, pricing governance, cost modelling, revenue assurance and analytical support across ASCO Group.
The role will ensure that pricing and costing methodologies are robust, standardised and transparent; that customer contracts are fully leveraged to deliver sustainable profitability; and that operational activity is accurately captured and billed.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and govern cost models, pricing tools and price books.
- Lead pricing strategies and financial analysis for tenders, contract renewals, variations and new business opportunities.
- Provide commercial analysis to support negotiations, contract decisions and account management.
- Monitor contract, customer and service-line profitability, identifying opportunities to improve margins and recover lost value.
- Lead revenue assurance activities, identifying billing errors, value leakage and process improvements.
- Develop commercial reporting, pricing metrics and profitability analysis to support business decision-making.
- Deliver commercial training to improve pricing awareness, activity capture and billing accuracy.
- Line manage and develop the Commercial & Pricing Analyst while driving continuous improvement across commercial finance processes.
- Key Accountabilities
- Develop and maintain pricing models, governance processes and approval controls.
- Produce robust costing, pricing and financial analysis for commercial opportunities.
- Support contract negotiations through financial modelling, scenario analysis and risk assessment.
- Work collaboratively with Commercial, Finance, Operations and Key Account teams to optimise profitability and contractual value.
- Improve billing accuracy through revenue assurance, contract reviews and process improvements.
- Develop commercial reporting and support implementation of pricing, costing and billing systems.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and communicate financial information clearly to both finance and operational teams.
- Support wider commercial and business improvement initiatives.
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant, or equivalent substantial experience in commercial finance, pricing, costing or revenue assurance.
- Proven experience of building, reviewing and governing cost and pricing models in a service-based or operational environment.
- Excellent numerical, analytical and modelling skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to identify the key drivers within complex data.
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage concurrent workstreams and deliver to agreed timescales.
- Confident in challenging assumptions, influencing stakeholders and driving change across functional boundaries.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel capability: experience of Power BI and commercial or financial systems is strongly desirable.
- Clear and credible communicator, able to explain complex commercial and financial matters to a range of audiences.
- Demonstrates a strong continuous-improvement mindset and a commitment to developing individual and team capability.
