Job Type: Permanent

Location: Teesside

Hours of Work: 12 hour shifts - 4 on/4 off (3 cycles) followed by 10 days break

Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Supervisor, this role is required to efficiently perform the base operative role with at least one or more of the following additional quayside functions as required: Chargehand, Checker, Tugmaster Operator and Forklift Driver.
  • Undertake cargo handling/vessel loading & unloading operations in accordance with company procedure.
  • Assist in the co-ordination of all crane lifting operations.
  • Assist in the transportation and logistics of lifting equipment.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all equipment used is compliant with legislation.
  • Participate in and contribute to the day-to-day interface between lifting operations and any other affected areas.
  • Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and suggest improvements/changes to the process where required.
  • Conduct Live Safe Interventions (LSI) and record for inclusion on base scorecard and the LiveSafe Gateway.
  • Present a positive image of the company through first class service delivery and customer engagement.
  • Ensure that formal procedures, standing instructions and safety standards are complied with at all times.
  • Ensure all site health and safety requirements are adhered to.
  • Must be flexible regarding working additional hours as required due to operational requirements.

Minimum Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours)

  • Maintains positive work relationships.
  • IOSH Working Safety.
  • Computer literate with well developed IT skills.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Banksman/Slinger Stage 3/4.
  • Current Forklift License.
  • Tug Master training.

Desirable Qualifications

  • UK Driving License.
  • Experience handling steel products.
