Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 0800 - 1600.
Reporting to the Senior Facilities Manager, the Site Technician will be responsible for completing semi-skilled operations, Planned Preventative Maintenance and Reactive Maintenance, repairs and cleaning within ASCO sites working in compliance with statutory and legal undertakings.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct all planned maintenance activities (in line with the compliance database) and reactive maintenance activities, updating records as required.
- Liaise with the department’s Helpdesk and line manager to identify and plan schedule of works, updating records as required.
- Carry out repairs, maintenance and cleaning of all property and grounds, including but not limited to roofs, walkways, minor service and maintenance on drains, indoor/outdoor plumbing, mowing, weeding, strimming, spraying etc.
- Modify furniture and fittings and move furniture, equipment and stores.
- Maintain clean and safe working environment within all operating areas, ensuring high standards throughout.
- Conduct weekly fire alarm tests across company's sites.
- Safely use and maintain a range of manual and electric tools and machinery.
- Liaise with, support and, where necessary, supervise internal and external personnel to ensure work tasks are always conducted in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Plan and organise deliveries/shipments of materials to ensure deadlines are met.
- Confirm materials correspond with paperwork, working with the Helpdesk to investigate discrepancies.
- Ensuring the continuous adherence to, and improvement of, safety and environmental, participating in the continuous improvement of customer service, processes and cost effectiveness.
- Participate in an out of hours on-call rota.
- Present a positive image of the company through first class service delivery and customer engagement.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers, colleagues and vendors.
- Proactively assist colleagues and undertake adhoc duties, as required.
Minimum Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours)
- Experience on a maintenance contract and/or within a multi-disciplined team.
- Solutions based, motivated to achieve the highest standards of performance and customer support.
- Accustomed to working effectively in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing workloads and priorities, where high standards are not compromised under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and in writing.
- Ability to work stand-alone while a positive contributor to the wider team.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent planning & organising skills.
- Computer literate with operator knowledge across the Microsoft suite.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education to National 5 level or equivalent.
- Full driving license.
Desirable Qualifications/Competencies
- IOSH or other relevant HSSEQ qualification.
- Time served in a relevant trade.
- Forklift, Access Platform trained.
