Investment Operations Manager – Liverpool – £45,000-£55,000
Role summary:
This role is responsible for managing all aspects of the Operations Department, including line management responsibility for 3 supervisors:
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and provide strategic direction for the day-to-day management and development of our Investment Operations, Digital Operations and Operational Control and Reporting teams.
- Monitor and drive the output of the department, ensuring a high-level of accuracy and productivity in all roles.
- Understand our full business lifecycle, and how the Operations Department connects to this.
- Maintain, develop and produce sufficient MI to understand the trends and patterns within the department’s workloads.
- To act as a point of escalation and maintain sufficient company and industry knowledge to complete full root cause analysis for complex cases, issues and complaints.
- Regularly review and assess our policies, processes and procedures to ensure all are as robust and efficient as possible, introducing or developing any improvements you feel may be required.
- Perform regular resource and capacity analysis to ensure that all teams are adequately resourced.
- Support and assist the Head of Operations with business-critical projects as well as the development of new or enhanced service offerings.
- Oversee and ensure the timely production and submission of any regulatory reporting that the team is responsible for including annual ISA reporting, MiFIR transaction reporting and FCA product sales data.
- Ensure that all People Management duties are completed across all teams.
- Take a leading role in our relationship management with both internal departments and relevant third-party suppliers.
- Oversee and manage all User Acceptance Testing on 3rd Party applications and ensuring that change management controls are followed correctly.
Required Experience and Skills:
- Demonstratable experience in a similar role, with extensive People Management experience in an investment administration environment.
- Experience working with large or complex data sets, with an understanding of data analysis or the ability to convey your requirements.
- Previous successful track record of managing operations teams in a financial service environment.
- Strong mentoring and coaching experience for teams with diverse levels of expertise.
- Highly motivated and able to motivate others with a focus on controls, improvement and delivering results.
- Detailed knowledge of the UK financial services environment, specifically relating to custody, trading, corporate actions and regulatory obligations/reporting would be highly beneficial.
- Experience contributing to business projects, with an understanding of the basics of project management.
- Ability to quickly understand and articulate complex ideas, data, concepts and solutions both internally and externally.
- Ability to take ownership of processes and issues.
- Strong business acumen and commercial awareness.
- Highly organised and comfortable making decisions.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, able to adopt a logical approach.
- Excellent influencing and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels, both verbal and written.
- Drives change with a positive and flexible attitude.
Essential Qualifications:
CISI Investment Operations Certificate or equivalent.
