About the role

Play a crucial role in the functional and disability assessments process, a service that touches the lives of millions of people in the UK.

As a Physiotherapist Functional Assessor, you will work autonomously to assess the cases of people who are applying for the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) benefit or a Work Capability Assessment (WCA) as part of the DWP’s Health Assessment and Advisory Services (HAAS). This will involve holding consultations and writing fair and accurate reports.

You will only work to assess people for PIP or a WCA, not both. As part of your application process, we will advise you on which service you will work on and discuss what your training will involve.

You do not need to have worked as a Functional Assessor previously. We can support you in your career change with our accredited training programme and dedicated support structure.
