People Team | Remote (with occasional travel to Bristol) | Permanent | Part-time (30 hours per week)

At Ascenti, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for an experienced and people-focused Employee Relations Advisor to join our People Team and play an important role in supporting managers across the business to create positive employee experiences and make confident people decisions. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building trusted relationships, advising on a wide range of employee relations matters and helping managers grow their confidence and capability.

You will be joining a collaborative and supportive People Team where your expertise will genuinely influence how we support our colleagues across the business.

The opportunity

As our Employee Relations Advisor, you will be a trusted partner to managers, providing practical and commercially balanced advice across employee relations, policy and people matters. You will support leaders through a variety of cases, helping them navigate challenges confidently while ensuring a fair and consistent approach aligned with our values. This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will work closely with the wider People Team including People Operations and Talent Acquisition, building strong partnerships and helping us deliver a seamless people experience across Ascenti.

Alongside casework, you will play an important role in strengthening manager capability, promoting best practice and supporting a culture where our colleagues feel supported, valued and able to thrive.

What you will be doing

  • Providing high-quality employee relations advice and guidance to managers across the business
  • Supporting and coaching managers through a range of employee relations matters including absence, conduct, performance and wellbeing
  • Helping managers build confidence and capability to manage people matters effectively and independently
  • Ensuring people policies and processes are applied fairly, consistently and in line with UK employment legislation
  • Identifying risks and escalating more complex matters where appropriate
  • Building strong and trusted working relationships with managers and stakeholders
  • Working collaboratively with the wider People Team to support shared goals and business priorities
  • Supporting a positive culture that reflects our values and promotes inclusion, wellbeing and employee engagement
  • Contributing to continuous improvement across people processes and ways of working

About you

You will bring previous experience in an HR advisory or employee relations role and feel confident supporting managers through a variety of people matters. You will enjoy balancing people-focused conversations with practical problem solving and will be comfortable managing priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will also bring:

  • Good knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations best practice
  • Experience advising managers on a variety of employee relations matters
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A calm and professional approach when managing sensitive or complex situations
  • Excellent organization and the ability to balance competing priorities
  • A collaborative mindset and a genuine passion for creating positive employee experiences

A CIPD Level 5 qualification, or working towards this, would be beneficial, although equivalent experience is equally valued.
