Ascent Recruitment is pleased to exclusively support a fantastic Wilmslow-based business in the search for a Group Tax Accountant. This is a broad and visible role within Group Finance, supporting the business across both direct and indirect tax. You’ll play a key part in ensuring tax compliance obligations are met, supporting statutory reporting, and helping to strengthen and improve the Group’s tax control environment.
This role would suit either a qualified, or part qualified 1st time mover from practice or someone with industry experience in corporate tax and an interest in developing broader exposure across VAT and group tax matters.
Key responsibilities include:
- Corporation tax compliance across the Group
- Preparation and submission of UK corporation tax returns
- Preparation of UK VAT returns
- Tax disclosures for Group and subsidiary statutory accounts (IFRS)
- Supporting and improving the Group’s tax control environment
- Maintaining supporting documentation and controls
- Supporting the wider business with ad-hoc tax queries and projects
Key skills and experience:
- Experience in tax, or audit/finance with tax exposure (practice or industry)
- Some understanding of corporate tax and corporation tax returns
- VAT experience beneficial but not essential
- Experience supporting statutory accounts and tax disclosures (IFRS preferred)
- Confident communicator, able to work with stakeholders across the business
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and keen to improve processes
- CTA, ACA, ACCA (or equivalent), ATT qualified or part-qualified
Salary and key benefits:
- Up to £55,000
- 10% bonus
- Hybrid working – 2 days in the office
- 29 days holiday, plus bank
