Ascent Recruitment is pleased to be exclusively partnering with a growing business in Wilmslow to recruit an Accounts Assistant/Trainee Accountant with a view to training them up to become a Management Accountant, over a relatively short period. This is a great opportunity for a recent Accountancy and Finance Graduate to join a close-knit finance team in a varied, hands-on role supporting the day-to-day running of the finance function.

The successful candidate will already have some experience working in transactional finance. However, in this role, working closely with an experienced CFO, the successful candidate will receive mentoring and development with a clear pathway towards a future Management Accountant position.

Key responsibilities:
  • Purchase ledger processing and invoice coding
  • Bank postings and reconciliations
  • Supporting month-end and management accounts
  • Supplier statement reconciliations
  • Managing the finance inbox and queries
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers
  • Assisting with day-to-day finance administration
  • Working to deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience processing purchase invoices
  • Bank and supplier reconciliation experience
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Previous experience working within an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role
  • Sage50 experience would be advantageous
  • A recent Accountancy and Finance Graduate
