Ascent Recruitment is pleased to exclusively support a successful and growing manufacturing business in Manchester in its search for a Financial Controller. With an ambitious plan to scale to £200m turnover (via organic growth and acquisitions), this is a high-impact role within a well-backed international group offering strong governance and long-term progression. This will initially be a hands-on role (month-end, reporting, controls), evolving as the finance function continues to develop.
Key Responsibilities
- Ownership of month-end, consolidation and management reporting
- Lead and develop a medium-sized finance team
- Oversee cashflow, treasury (multi-currency) and working capital
- Drive improvements in controls, processes and reporting
- Ownership of audit and compliance
- Support budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning
- Partner with operational and international teams
- Involvement in systems change (SAP → Dynamics)
Candidate Profile
- Qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
- Strong finance fundamentals and commercial awareness
- Manufacturing/product experience beneficial
- Experience managing teams, cash flow, and working capital
- Hands-on with the ability to operate strategically
Salary & Benefits
- £75,000 salary
- £6,000 car allowance
