Ascent Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a fast-growing, international SME business in Manchester as they look to appoint a Group Management Accountant to join their finance team.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll take ownership of key accounting and month-end processes across a complex, multi-entity and multi-currency international group.
The role will involve:
- Taking ownership of month-end processes, checks and reconciliations across multiple group entities
- Identifying and driving improvements to finance processes and reporting
- Using Excel, Power BI and technology to improve the quality and efficiency of financial information
- Preparing accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and intercompany reconciliations
- Supporting accurate and timely management accounting and financial reporting
- Managing day-to-day accounting across international entities
- Overseeing client billing and reconciling associated data
- Reviewing bank reconciliations, cash positions and group payment runs
- Supporting audit queries and maintaining strong financial controls and compliance
- Working with stakeholders across the business, as well as clients and suppliers
- Supporting and guiding the wider finance team and helping keep key deadlines on track
What we’re looking for:
- ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualified or part-qualified
- Strong hands-on month-end and management accounting experience
- A genuine interest in improving processes
- Experience of multi-entity environments
- Good understanding of financial controls, reconciliations and reporting
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the confidence to improve processes rather than simply follow them
- Experience gained within both SME and larger, more structured environments would be particularly useful
