Financial Controller

Overview

Ascent Recruitment is pleased to exclusively support a successful and growing manufacturing business in Manchester in its search for a Financial Controller. With an ambitious plan to scale to £200m turnover (via organic growth and acquisitions), this is a high-impact role within a well-backed international group offering strong governance and long-term progression. This will initially be a hands-on role (month-end, reporting, controls), evolving as the finance function continues to develop.

Key Responsibilities

• Ownership of month-end, consolidation and management reporting
• Lead and develop a medium-sized finance team
• Oversee cashflow, treasury (multi-currency) and working capital
• Drive improvements in controls, processes and reporting
• Ownership of audit and compliance
• Support budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning
• Partner with operational and international teams

Candidate Profile

• Strong finance fundamentals and commercial awareness
• Manufacturing/product experience beneficial
• Experience managing teams, cash flow, and working capital
• Hands-on with the ability to operate strategically
