Ascent Recruitment is pleased to support a market-leading, privately owned importer, wholesaler and distributor in South Manchester in the appointment of a Head of Finance. Reporting to the Finance Director and working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, you'll play a key role in shaping financial strategy, supporting growth initiatives and driving commercial performance across a global business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and developing international finance teams, ensuring accurate and insightful financial reporting
  • Partnering with commercial teams to support growth strategies, investment decisions and strategic projects
  • Evaluating acquisitions, business opportunities and funding options to support expansion
  • Building and maintaining relationships with financial partners and lenders
  • Driving operational efficiency and continuous improvement across finance, reporting and business processes
  • Supporting ERP implementations, reporting enhancements and wider finance transformation projects
  • Providing commercial insight and influencing key business decisions at senior leadership level

The successful candidate will be:

  • An experienced finance leader with a strong operational and commercial finance background
  • Experienced in managing and developing teams
  • Comfortable operating within a complex, multi-entity or international environment
  • Commercially minded, analytical and capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels
  • Ideally experienced in corporate finance, acquisitions, funding or strategic growth initiatives
