Management Accountant (Temporary Position)
Ascent Recruitment is pleased to support a successful South Manchester-based business, searching for an Assistant Management Accountant to join the finance team.
This is a new role in a business on an exciting growth journey, providing progression and a genuinely great culture.
Working alongside the Head of Finance, this role will suit either an Assistant Accountant looking to step up, or an Assistant Management Accountant looking to gain full exposure to the management accounts, as the Management Accountant for one of the newly acquired businesses.
The successful candidate can be a studier, part-qualified, or QBE, and study support will be offered if required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare month‑end results, including month‑end files, journals, accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, and commentary.
- Support the creation of cost centre reporting packs and variance analysis for the business.
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring daily maintenance.
- Reconcile company credit card expenditures.
- Compile weekly Bad Debt reports.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly commission calculations.
- Prepare the quarterly VAT return.
- Aid in the annual audit process.
- Provide insightful reporting and support with ad‑hoc analyses and projects.
