My client is a fast-paced, direct-to-consumer e‑commerce business whose growth over the last few years has been staggering. Due to expansion, they are seeking an IT Support Technician with at least 2 years of experience in a similar 1st-, 2nd, and 3rd-line Support role. This is an excellent opportunity to join a company where your career will grow as the company grows.
With an analytical mindset and a can-do attitude, you will handle systems support enquiries, system configuration changes and user requests. You will be able to manage a rapidly changing list of priorities, think under pressure and have superb attention to detail.
An ideal candidate for the IT Support Technician role will have the following:
- Be proficient at providing IT support across a range of business systems, ideally in a retail or e-commerce business.
- Have an analytical mindset and strong problem-solving skills.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills.
- Can deliver training to end-users, both in groups and one-to-one sessions.
Those with experience in Sage 200, Linnworks, Peoplevox, Microsoft 365 and Windows Server will be well suited but naturally, we recognise skills transferred from other systems.
You will be responsible for:
- Being the first point of contact for users with technical issues and questions.
- Resolving problems and escalating those which cannot be resolved in a first-line capacity.
- Hardware support across PCs, Macs, handheld devices, printers, networking, etc., including hands-on configuration and repairs when appropriate and coordination of return-to-base services.
- Setting up and maintaining workstations.
- Responding to system performance reports and alerts, troubleshooting issues, and implementing preventative measures, taking a proactive approach.
- Documenting issues and resolutions for future reference and to provide valuable feedback to users and the team.
- Liaising with third-party providers for second- and third-line support.
- Performing system administration, upgrades, and maintenance.
- Taking a proactive approach to IT security and regulatory compliance.
