Overview
We are seeking a versatile IT Support / Software Release Engineer to join our UK team. The role involves maintaining Windows Server environments, managing VMware infrastructure, supporting Office 365, and performing software release and automation activities. Strong technical skills combined with excellent customer service and communication abilities are essential.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise in Windows Server 2008-2016, VMware, and SQL Server.
- Deliver high‑quality customer service and experience.
- Manage hardware and software assets.
- Build and deploy server architecture, documenting processes in line with company standards.
- Offer support during defined maintenance weekends as required.
- Contribute to resource usage analysis and future requirement planning to meet IT Service targets.
- Monitor performance against contractual service targets and take appropriate action.
- Build strong partnership relationships with customers.
Qualifications
- Experience as an IT Support engineer with software release responsibilities.
- Proven work with Windows Server 2008-2016.
- Comfortable with Office 365 and scripting in PowerShell or similar.
- Knowledge of VMware required; additional scripting skills are desirable.
- Strong communication skills suitable for remote and desk‑side user engagement.
