IT Manager – Leicester, East Midlands – up to £50k
Location: East Midlands
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum plus benefits.
A specialist software provider in Leicester is looking for an IT Manager with specialist infrastructure knowledge to join the growing IT department. You will bring strong man‑management skills and experience heading up teams and the associated duties.
With a growing support function, you will oversee networking and infrastructure 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line analysts, as well as specialists based around virtualization, physical servers, and Windows/Microsoft environments. The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of IT, be a key decision‑maker, and be responsible for your own budget.
Further duties include dealing with 3rd‑party suppliers and vendors. Ultimately you will manage the infrastructure of the organisation and be accountable for its availability and performance. Team management duties will include development of the team (hiring, firing, training, one‑on‑ones, etc.).
Technical skills and experience required:
- Commercial experience in a similar IT Manager or Infrastructure Manager position
- Microsoft Windows environments
- VMWare
- Virtual and physical server management
- SQL Server and databases
- Team management – wellbeing, hiring/firing, and training
Desirables:
- IAAS, PAAS or SAAS
- Windows migrations
This role is based in Leicester and is easily accessible from surrounding East Midlands areas such as Nottingham, Burton on Trent, Loughborough, and Coventry.
