This leading software house based near Coventry is going through an exciting time of growth and looking to bring in an experienced IT Manager with infrastructure focused skills due to natural growth. This is a specialist role that will require infrastructure know-how as well as great man-management skills and experience heading-up teams and the duties attached.

As IT Manager of a growing support function, you will have a number of networking and infrastructure 1st, 2nd and 3rd line analysts below you as well as specialists based around virtualisation as well as physical servers and experience managing Windows and Microsoft environments. The successful candidate will report directly into the Head of IT and be a key decision maker as well as be responsible for your own budget.

Further duties include dealing with 3rd party suppliers and vendors covering supplier management and licence renewals. Ultimately you will be responsible for the infrastructure of the organisation moving forward. You will be responsible for the management and delivery of a reliable IT infrastructure for the organisation and be accountable for its availability and performance.

Team management duties will include the development of the team (hiring, firing, training, one-on-ones, etc.). Responsibilities will include all things management: budget, change, licence renewal, suppliers, vendors, server estate and the Cloud.

Technical skills and experience required for this IT Manager role:

  • Commercial experience in a similar IT Manager or Infrastructure Manager position
  • Windows & Microsoft environments (Windows Server 2012-2016)
  • ITIL embracer and believer
  • VMWare, Virtual and physical server management, SQL Server and databases
  • ISO27001 policies & procedures or similar security compliance
  • Team management – team well-being, hiring/firing, training

Desirables include:

  • IAAS, PAAS or SAAS
  • Windows migrations
