As a BFT Operations Officer, you will be part of a dedicated, experienced and focused team delivering outstanding and vital support to Texan flying operations. You will concentrate on air safety, ensuring flying staff and trainees have all they require to achieve their training missions by day and night.

You will:
- Manage and control a busy operations desk on the flight line.
- Operate various IT systems supporting a modern approach to air operations delivery.
- Produce and deliver pre-flight briefings to aircrew and supervisors.
- Provide air safety critical information to ensure aircrew can plan their training missions safely and efficiently.
- Work together with our customer and key partners to ensure that the daily flying programme requirements are delivered on time.
- Input aviation specific notifications and warnings into our IT based Mission Planning System.
- Act as the Ascent operations focal point within our on-site headquarters supporting the ops desks on the flight line and managing & booking practice diversions and landings at other airfields.
- Provide assistance to the Mission Support Officers delivering NOTAMs for GECO.
- Respond to various aviation emergencies in a timely and calm manner.
- Ensure aircraft are correctly booked into the UK Low Flying System utilising the Central Aviation Database (CADS).
- Be able to, after a period of familiarisation and training, operate as the sole Operations Specialist on duty, working an ‘earlies and lates’ shift system.

You will already have a breadth of experience operating within a busy flight operations area and thrive on working as part of a team and with key partners to deliver the best possible support to the aircrew. Your strong communication skills and the ability to quickly prioritise will be vital in a fast-paced and dynamic aviation environment. You will enjoy working in a team that is focused on safety and a desire to deliver timely and accurate information on time, every time. You will know the importance of being able to work successfully in situations that can often be pressured. It would be great, however not essential, if you have prior experience within a military flight operations area.
You will also:
- Have experience of using Mission Planning Systems and other IT based ops support systems.
- Be able to demonstrate experience of working with air safety critical notifications and warnings.
- Have strong presentation skills, targeting a wide audience from customers to key partners.
- Be able to demonstrate flexibility and the ability to solve problems quickly and safely.
