A day in the life of an Ascent FJT QSFI. As a Qualified Synthetic Flying Instructor (QSFI) on the Fast Jet Training (FJT) Squadron at RAF Valley, you will be part of a small niche team delivering world-class flying training to Military and Ascent aircrew on the Hawk TMk2.
Lead the team locally, working with the Transformation Programme Manager to drive the use of emerging technologies to enhance and evolve fast jet training in UKMFTS, including Mixed and Augmented Reality solutions.
Responsibilities- Assist the Chief Pilot in supervision and management of the FJT QSFI Team at RAF Valley
- Instruct relevant aspects of the FJT syllabus to high instructional standards
- Deliver phase briefs, technical lessons and practical demonstrations as part of synthetic instruction
- Conduct other tasks related to Hawk TMk2 training as directed
- Assist Curriculum Design as Hawk TMk2 Subject Matter Expert (SME) in development and maintenance of FJT courseware

- Previous experience as a Fast Jet QFI or Instructor Pilot in a military flying training school
- Relevant management/supervisory experience in a highly challenging, highly structured learning environment
- Computer fluency to include Windows, Microsoft Office Suite and Explorer

- Previous 4th/5th Gen front-line fast-jet experience
- QWI/EWI Qualification
