Exciting Head Dental Nurse Position - Dental Beauty Islington
Full Time Position - Hours Below £17 P/H + Bonus
Dental Beauty Partners are currently seeking a Head Dental Nurse/Compliance Lead to join us at our lovely mixed practice, Dental Beauty Islington. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a vibrant and family‑orientated practice & nursing team in the Islington area, leading & providing essential support to our Nursing team. You will be joining a fantastic team of clinicians and support staff, led by three Clinical Partners, who all work together in harmony to deliver a brilliant patient journey. The practice is very accessible via public transport, close to Angel & Highbury & Islington stations. Working hours: 8.30AM-6PM, Monday-Friday with roughly 1 Saturday every 6‑8 weeks.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing daily surgery and decontamination room checklists and compliance
- Managing audits and supporting full regulatory compliance standards
- Maintaining and updating clinical equipment and stock systems
- Overseeing handpiece care, CT scanner checks, calibration, and equipment logs
- Completing medical emergency kit and medical fridge temperature checks
- Supporting infection control, including legionella testing and dip slides
- Ensuring surgeries are correctly stocked and well maintained
- Leading and training junior staff and trainee dental nurses, including inductions
- Managing clinical waste processes
- Carrying out spot checks to maintain high cleaning and hygiene standards
- Supporting open days and occasional Saturday working (approx. 8 per year)
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- We are ideally looking for a candidate with at least 4-5 years of experience as a Dental Nurse, within a private or mixed practice
- GDC Registration is a requirement for this position
- Prior compliance experience in practice is also important for this position
- Experience supporting a variety of general, cosmetic & restorative dental treatment is highly desirable
- Experience leading a team
- Dentally software experience is preferred but not essential
- Ensuring CQC requirements are met at all times
- Experience in providing exceptional patient care/customer service
