Ascent Compliance Ltd, based in Northallerton, is a developing asbestos consultancy focused on delivering high‑quality surveying and analytical services across the UK.

We are currently working towards UKAS accreditation, and this is an exciting opportunity to play a hands‑on role in achieving this goal — you’ll be directly involved in implementing and refining quality systems, shaping the company’s accredited future, and gaining valuable experience in the accreditation process.

Role Summary

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Deputy Technical & Quality Manager to support our asbestos consultancy operations. This dual‑focused role covers the technical delivery of asbestos surveying and air‑monitoring work, as well as maintaining and developing the quality management systems.

You may either be an experienced asbestos professional looking for a senior technical and quality leadership position, or a professional from a consultancy or project management background ready to take the next step in your career. You will work closely with our Technical and Quality Managers (and deputise for them where required), undertaking site surveys, air monitoring, database management, and quality assurance duties. Flexibility to travel and work away from home on occasion is essential.

Required Qualifications

• P402 – Surveying and Sampling Strategies for Asbestos in Buildings
• P403 – Air Sampling and Fibre Counting (PCM)
• P404 – Clearance Testing and the Requirements for a Certificate for Reoccupation
• P405 – Management of Asbestos in Buildings (including Asbestos Removal)

Highly advantageous:

• CoCA – Certificate of Competence in Asbestos
• CCP – Certificate of Professional Competence

Key Skills & Attributes

• Strong technical competence in asbestos surveying, air monitoring, four‑stage clearance, and certification of reoccupation.
• Solid understanding of ISO 17025 / ISO 17020 quality systems within the asbestos consultancy sector.
• Excellent report writing, communication, and organisational skills.
• Proven experience using the TEAMS software database – a strong knowledge base of TEAMS is essential.
• Ability to manage workload, meet deadlines, and maintain quality standards across multiple projects.
• Willingness to travel and work away when required.
• A proactive mindset, capable of problem‑solving and continuous improvement.
• Full UK driving licence.
