About the Role: We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Business Analyst with deep expertise in the banking and financial services domain and a solid understanding of native mobile applications (iOS & Android). This role involves working closely with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements while ensuring that mobile and digital banking solutions align with regulatory standards and customer experience goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Requirement Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and validate business, functional, and non-functional requirements with a focus on mobile banking applications and digital experiences.
- Documentation: Prepare clear and detailed Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Specification Documents (FSDs), Use Cases, and Mobile App User Stories.
- Mobile & Banking Expertise: Understand and bridge both core banking systems and mobile platforms, covering features such as onboarding, authentication, transactions, payments, alerts, KYC, and mobile security.
- Agile Participation: Work in Agile or hybrid delivery models, contributing to backlog grooming, sprint planning, and mobile app UAT support.
- Testing & Validation: Assist in designing mobile-specific test cases, conduct mobile UI/UX validations, support UAT execution, and help validate app functionality against business objectives.
- Compliance & Security: Ensure adherence to UK-specific financial regulations such as FCA, PSD2, Open Banking, APP Scam Codes, and GDPR, especially where customer data and transactional services are involved.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in the banking or financial services domain with at least 2+ years focused on Personal Current Accounts.
- Exposure to native mobile application development cycles (iOS and Android), either directly or in collaboration with mobile teams.
- Strong knowledge in one or more banking areas: Retail/Corporate Banking, Payments, Core Banking Systems, Lending, Trade Finance, Risk & Compliance.
- Proven ability to write detailed BRDs, FSDs, mobile user stories, and user flow diagrams.
- Familiarity with tools like JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Balsamiq, or Figma.
- Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
