Playground Maintenance & Inspection Operative

£33,902 to £36,226 depending on experience (pay award pending)

Full time (37 hours a week) all year round with 29 days holiday + Bank Holidays

Work vehicle provided if required

We’re seeking a professional Playground Maintenance & Inspection Electrician Operative to join our Estates team as we build new in-house services for our schools. Reporting to the Estates Manager, you will carry out regular inspections of playground equipment and outdoor areas, helping to spot and address any issues before they become problems. From completing routine checks and keeping accurate records, to carrying out minor repairs and coordinating larger projects with trusted contractors. Your work will ensure that every play space remains clean, safe, and enjoyable for all. You’ll also support ongoing improvements and refurbishment projects, helping to enhance outdoor environments for future generations of pupils.

About You

We’re looking for someone who brings a practical, hands-on approach along with a genuine commitment to safety and high standards. Ideally, you’ll hold (or be willing to work towards) an RPII Operational Playground Inspector certification and have a good understanding of playground safety standards, alongside a solid awareness of health and safety. Experience in playground or general site maintenance would be a real advantage, as would First Aid at Work and confidence using compliance or helpdesk systems. You’ll be comfortable following work instructions, working both independently and as part of a team and will hold a full driving licence.
