Take full responsibility for the leadership, management, and development of a children’s home in Enfield. Ensure the home operates in full compliance with Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Ofsted standards. Key Responsibilities
- Provide strong leadership and direction to the staff team, promoting a positive and therapeutic care environment.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people at all times.
- Ensure care plans are effectively implemented, regularly reviewed, and tailored to individual needs.
- Lead on Ofsted inspections, ensuring the home is always inspection‑ready.
- Recruit, supervise, appraise, and develop staff, ensuring appropriate training and CPD.
- Manage staffing levels, rotas, and on‑call arrangements to maintain safe and effective care.
- Handle safeguarding concerns, incidents, and complaints in line with policy and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate, compliant, and up‑to‑date records and documentation.
- Monitor and improve the quality of care through audits, feedback, and continuous improvement processes.
- Work in partnership with external agencies, families, and professionals to support young people.
- Oversee the home’s budget and resources to ensure effective and sustainable operation.
What We’re Looking For
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to achieve within required timeframe).
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in residential childcare within the last 5 years.
- At least 1 year’s experience in a supervisory or management role within a care setting.
- Strong knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations, safeguarding practices, and Ofsted expectations.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, manage, and develop teams.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and decision‑making skills.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour and complex needs effectively.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and high standards of care.
- Physically and mentally fit to manage the demands of the role, with integrity and good character.
