A leading leisure software outfit is requiring a Purchasing Assistant to join their expanding team in Stoke. Due to growth, they require a Purchasing Assistant to be responsible for sourcing materials and components at the best price, quality, and delivery lead times in line with Company requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing stock levels and purchasing in line with demands
- Actioning MRP Planned Purchase Orders
- Chasing order acknowledgements for orders placed
- Expediting orders that are past due date, or require pull forward
- Expediting orders required for the next 10 days in production
- Communicating with Master Planner of any supply issues which will affect the production plan
- Manual Planning where required for: Packaging and timber Production of non-bill of material requirements
- Assisting with obtaining costs for bespoke items, ensuring a drawing pack is obtained in a timely manner
- Raising purchase orders and placing orders with due attention: Price checks including price breaks mapped against run rates, Stock availability, lead times and alternative sources of supply
- Assisting with sourcing new suppliers, including benchmarking trade agreements, minimum order quantities and lead times
- Assisting with managing suppliers and monitoring key performance indicators where appropriate: OTIF Non-conformance report rejects
Required Experience, Skills and Abilities
- Experience of being in a similar purchasing role
- Experience of ERP/MRP systems
- Experience of NPI processes
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Good analytical skills
- Strong negotiating capability
- Liaising with internal departments, UK based and international suppliers
