A leading manufacturing firm based near Southampton is requiring a Test Engineer to design and develop test equipment and processes, as well as carry out product testing for new and existing product development projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Interpreting technical requirements and creating test plans.
  • Developing automated test fixtures and performing product testing.
  • Supporting system level testing of NPD projects by developing the overall test plan and process of embedded systems, focusing on product performance, automated test systems, and product requirements.
  • Developing test fixtures (production and engineering) for the testing of new products and subsystems of mechanical and electronic hardware.
  • Negotiating test requirements with product management, project management, and other members of the project team, as well as communicating these requirements and plans.
  • Integration testing: setting up and performing tests against the product requirements to ensure the product meets the system level requirements.
  • Testing and validation: collaborating with other teams, including software, mechanical, and electrical engineers, to define requirements and integrate solutions.
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for the system's design, root cause analysis, prognosis, and product functionality.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field, such as computer engineering, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like C, C++, Python, etc.
  • Knowledge of PCB design tools and electronic design automation software.
