A leading manufacturing firm based near Southampton is requiring a Test Engineer to design, develop test equipment and processes as well as carry out product testing for new and existing product development projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Interpreting technical requirements
- Creating test plans
- Developing automated test fixtures
- Performing product testing
- Supporting system level testing of NPD projects: Develop the overall test plan and process of embedded systems, focusing on product performance, automated test systems and product requirements
- Developing test fixtures (production and engineering) for the testing of new products and subsystems of mechanical and electronic hardware
- Negotiating test requirements with product management, project management and other members of the project team
- Communicating test requirements and plans
- Integration testing: setting up and performing tests against the product requirements to ensure the product meets the system level requirements
- Testing and validation: Collaborating with other teams, including software, mechanical, and electrical engineers, to define requirements and integrate solutions
- Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for the system's design, root cause analysis, prognosis and product functionality
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field, such as computer engineering, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering
- Proficiency in programming languages like C, C++, Python, etc.
- Knowledge of PCB design tools and electronic design automation software
