About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist children's residential care provider for a dedicated Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of a residential children's home in Nottingham.
You will play a key role in ensuring children and young people receive safe, nurturing and high-quality care while supporting the staff team and maintaining strong regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day management of the home.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations and relevant legislation.
- Safeguard children and promote their welfare at all times.
- Supervise, support and motivate the residential care team.
- Assist with care planning, reviews and accurate record keeping.
- Monitor incidents, safeguarding concerns and complaints.
- Support staff with challenging situations and day-to-day decision-making.
- Work closely with social workers, families and other professionals.
- Assist with preparation for Ofsted inspections.
- Support audits, quality monitoring and continuous improvement.
- Assist with recruitment, induction, supervision and staff development.
- Act as the senior person on shift when required.
Requirements
- Previous experience within children's residential care.
- Experience in a senior care or supervisory position.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and children's legislation.
- Relevant Level 3/4 qualification in Children's Services, Health & Social Care or equivalent.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to support and motivate a team.
- Good understanding of Ofsted standards and regulatory requirements.
- A Level 5 qualification, or willingness to work towards one, is desirable.
