We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established packaging manufacturer looking to add a mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer to their close-knit engineering team. This is a days based position, working Monday-Friday: 8:00am-4:30pm with 1 in 4 Saturdays (6 hours), with time off in lieu during the following week.
Supplying bespoke packaging solutions to customers across a wide range of industries, the business has continued to invest in its production facilities, equipment and engineering function, creating a stable manufacturing environment with a strong order book.
In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining a wide range of machinery, ensuring high levels of reliability, minimising downtime and supporting ongoing engineering improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Reacting quickly to breakdowns on production machinery
- Reading and following engineering drawings
- Completing planned preventative maintenance during the scheduled shift
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and basic electrical faults on production equipment
- Stripping, repairing and rebuilding mechanical assemblies
- Maintain mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and basic electrical systems (e.g conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, chains, belts and motors)
- Carrying out machine adjustments, changeovers and equipment improvements to improve reliability
Salary: £45,000-£48,000
Experience Required:
- Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
- Basic electrical maintenance skills
- Experience maintaining industrial manufacturing machinery
