A Quality Engineer opportunity has arisen within a well-established specialist manufacturing business supplying products into a diverse range of established and growing engineering sectors. This is a hands-on role focused on customer quality, technical problem solving and continuous improvement rather than inspection.
Working closely with Operations, Technical and the Quality Manager, you'll lead customer quality investigations, identify root causes and implement permanent corrective actions to improve quality and manufacturing performance.
Quality Engineer responsibilities include:
- Leading customer complaint investigations and producing robust customer-facing 8D reports.
- Conducting structured Root Cause Analysis and implementing and verifying corrective actions.
- Supporting PPAP and APQP activities while maintaining FMEAs and Control Plans.
- Analysing quality data to identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities.
- Working closely with Operations and Technical teams to improve process capability and reduce defects.
- Supporting customer visits, internal audits, non-conformance investigations and continuous improvement projects.
Quality Engineer desirable skills and experience:
- Quality Engineer experience within an automotive manufacturing environment.
- Customer quality experience, including leading investigations and producing customer-facing 8D reports.
- Strong Root Cause Analysis and structured problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of Automotive Core Tools including PPAP, APQP, FMEA, SPC and MSA.
- Experience working within an IATF 16949 environment.
- Confident customer-facing communication skills with a proactive and methodical approach to problem solving.
